Johnson’s Court, Dublin. December 2007.
I love the way they create a fairy light canopy the whole way between Grafton Street and Clarendon Street at Christmas. It makes a dull little lane way which usually smells like wee magical for a month.

builtenvironment:

The Samuel Beckett Bridge connects Macken street on the southside and Guild street on North wall quay. The main span of the Samuel Beckett Bridge is supported by 31 cables. It is capable of opening through an angle of 90 degrees allowing ships to pass through. This will be achieved through a rotational mechanism housed in the base of the pylon. The shape of the spar and its cables is said to evoke an image of a harp lying on its edge. The steel structure of the bridge was constructed in Rotterdam. The structure was shipped to Dublin. It is due to open on the 10th December 2009.
